Day 56

Diet: 4 chicken breasts, broccoli, watermelon, water

In two days I will be doing a reveal since I haven't been able to post pictures while I was on break from school. Tomorrow I will be arriving in Providence and today I'm going to spend the latter part of the evening packing and getting everything ready for my departure. Today I'm going to be pretty busy but I'm still going to try to workout.

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Day 55

Diet:4 chicken breasts, lean meat, salad, water

Today I was really busy as I am preparing to go back to school in a couple of days. I had to go buy some things and start packing. The gym isnt open today or tomorrow so I will be doing my workouts at home this weekend then back to the grind at school with Jeremy.

Day 54

Mood: Dissapointed

Diet 3 chicken breasts, salad, water, protein shake

So I won't be able to do cardio till tomorrow, but I will be doing six hours tomorrow to make up for it, maybe I'm exaggerating but I will be doing lots of cardio tomorrow, probably steady state since I probably won't be able to run too much. Good luck to everyone on their missions, mine ends on the 15th of september, time has gone by really fast. I can't believe I've been doing this for almost two months now.

Workout:

Day 53

Mood: Disappointed

Diet: 8 chicken breasts, vegetables, lots of water

So yesterday after my final workout, the bottom of my foot was hurting real bad, so I took off my sock and there was another huge blister but this time on my left foot. I can't do cardio today, since I can barely walk, I have raw skin on where I plant my feet. I'm going to lift however and do some crunches. We'll see if the skin has dried up by tomorrow so I can amp the cardio up for the last three days that I'm going to be in Texas

Day 52

Mood: Excellent

Diet: 6 chicken breasts, three salads

Current weight: 197 pounds

So today I went to the gym to play a little basketball and lift some weights. I'm going back to school in 4 days so I've got to amp up the lifting and the cardio because in 4 days I will only have about two weeks left to lose the rest of my 20 pound goal.

So today I took my 15 year old nephew to the gym today but he's very antisocial so he stood in the corner while I lifted weights, made me feel bad that he didn't want to take part because he's really uneasy around strangers. But overall I had a pretty good workout.

Day 49

Mood: Excellent

Diet: 180g of carbs, 200g of protein, 150 ozs of water, 50g of fat

So today was my high carb day and I enjoyed it with some good baked potatoes after workout. Tomorrow I will increase the cardio to three times a day every day, because I have nothing better to do at the moment haha. I'm close to my goal of 190 pounds, but I do have to increase the cardio if not I will gain weight with all the calories I'm taking in everyday. At the moment, I feel like I don't have any arms, I pretty much killed them today.

Workout:

300 reps of 20 pound dumb bells each arm biceps
200 reps of 40 pounds skull crushers for triceps

20 min HIIT cardio

Saturday, August 23, 2008

Day 48

Diet: 8 chicken breasts with salad, 150 ozs of water

Today I did HIIT cardio for 20 minutes. I'm not going to lift today, since its my rest day and I have been killing my chest back and arms. Tomorrow I'm going to do double cardio and lift and eat high carb which I'm EXCITED about. The fish oil has been clearing up my skin and making me smarter haha. I'm kind of in a hurry so sorry for the short post but tomorrow I will explain.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Day 47

Diet: 4 breasts of chicken, salad, 4 protein shakes, 150 ozs od water, 1/4 cup of peanuts, and 6grams of fish oil

So today, I'm going to the gym to play an hour of basketball, lift, and do some cardio. The past few days, I have been consuming a lot more protein than I had been in the past and I'm trying the six small meals a day thing for the next week to see if I see changes in muscle mass and energy.

Workout:
basketball for fun

lifting
chest, back, push ups

20 min HIIT

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Day 46

Mood: Excellent

Diet: 300g protein, 150 ozs of water, 50g of good fat, 80g of carbs from oatmeal and vegetables

So today, I'm increasing the protein intake to 1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight. At the moment, I'm about to start preparing my fourth meal which consists of two chicken breasts and a cup and half of vegetables. Shout out to Jeremy for the marked improvement and I can't wait to get back to school because I'm in dire need of a spotter.

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Day 45

Diet: sald with two breasts of chicken, two protein shakes

Yesterday I discovered a huge blister on the bottom of my foot, so I think I'm going to go easy on the cardio today since it hurts when I plant my foot.

Today's workout calls for
chest- pec bench, push press, push ups, cable cross overs

back- lat pull downs, lower back dips, push ups

legs

cardio

I'll try to do jump rope, since I don't need to plant my feet that much.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Day 44

Mood: Excellent

Diet: salad with two chicken breasts, two protein shakes

Cardio:

10 min hiit cardio

Monday, August 18, 2008

Day 43

Mood: Excellent

Diet: Salad with two chicken breasts, two protein shakes

So today, I weighed myself and I finally weigh less than 200 pounds. It took lots of hard work, my weight is 198 right now, 8 pounds from my goal of 190 pounds. Tomorrow I'm going to cook 5 chicken breasts and just put them in the fridge and eat them every couple of hours. Tomorrow's plan calls for 308 grams of protein, 80 grams of carbs from fibrous vegetables, 50g of good fat (fish oil and dry roasted peanuts) and 150 ozs of water. Today I lifted weights (chest back) and did a bit of jump rope and 20 minutes of HIIT cardio. I'm almost there (I've dropped 3 inches from my waist and am now a medium in shirt size.

Day 42: Day off

Yesterday I drove back to Texas and arrived at my hometown at 7:30 in the morning. After a sleepless night, I've decided to rest today so that tomorrow I will be able to go hard at the gym.

Saturday, August 16, 2008

Day 41

Mood: Excellent

Diet: Oatmeal with a protein shake, two bottles of water

So today I embark on a 16 hour drive back to my hometown, not looking forward to it. Today, I ran two miles in the morning and did a few sets of push-ups. I will not get a chance to lift tonight but tomorrow I will have all the time in the world. I notice some of my belly leaving my body and my arms are more toned, probably due to all the running I have been doing the past week. I have a month left to lose another 10 or so pounds to complete my first mission. I'm glad that I will have access to a gym back home but running and doing cardio might be a problem. I'll figure out a way, the gym I go to only allows you to use the treadmill for 20 minutes, because there's only three. So I'll probably have to rely on just doing 20 min HIIT then hop on an elliptical. I'm going to miss the mountaintops, the weather for running outside was incredible, now I have to go to Texas where running outside is not an option (110 degree weather) :( Good luck to everyone on their missions.

Until next time.

Friday, August 15, 2008

Day 40

Mood: Excellent

Diet: chicken with broccoli, two bottles of water

So today, I plan on doing 1000 pushups or 50 sets of 20 push ups, we'll see of I can haha. I also plan on doing some more cardio with my weighted speed rope and if my arms and body are killed by then, I plan on lifting (chest, back). I feel great, I'm getting a lot leaner, now I just have to lose that back fat jk. Thanks to everyone for their encouragement. I'm leaving the mountaintops tomorrow and going back to dry, flat Texas. I'm going to try to sneak a run tomorrow morning and push myself a lot harder, you know go out with a bang. I won 75 dollars at the casino yesterday playing blackjack, I feel rich haha, I'm happy because I plan on using it to buy the Nike plus pedometer (the human race).

Until next time

Thursday, August 14, 2008

Day 39

Mood: Excellent

Diet so far: Chicken with vegetables and 3 bottles of water(about 50 ozs)

So today, I ran about 4.25 miles and in the process did 3 very steep uphill jogs. It was terrible, I felt like I was going to die, but I accomplished it once again. I'm pushing myself harder and harder everyday. Today, I'm focusing on cleaning up my diet, so that my intense cardio doesn't go to waste. Tonight, I plan on doing a variety of weight training, probably arms, and then working my abs. Life has been good, I feel great, have more energy and enjoy doing cardio now. I guess I have gotten into the habit. I'm about 10 pounds from my weight loss goal and I have a month to complete it. I will be able to if I work hard and shred hard. My arms have gotten a lot leaner and my quads are shedding fat haha. I'm almost there. Good luck to everyone on their missions. I know we can all do what we set out to accomplish. Can't is not in my dictionary anymore, I will do this for me and for a healthier life.

Until next time.

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Day 38

Mood: Excellent

Diet: Two salads with chicken, protein shake and lots of water

Current weight: 202 pounds

So today I woke up a bit sore from my run yesterday but I don't feel that bad physically. Today's workout will consist of an hour of cardio using a weighted speed rope, a couple hundred push ups and sit ups, and probably a chest and back workout with the weights I brought for my vacation. Tomorrow, I will undertake another 4 mile run, but will try to do maybe 5 miles this time. I think I can do it if I push myself, I'm hydrating myself all day today, since yesterday I felt a bit of dehydrated. This time I will try to embark on three uphill jogging climbs instead of two and will try to cut my time by a quarter. I did 4 miles yesterday in about an hour and 15 minutes, I'm striving for a 12-15 minute mile since the course I take is pretty much all uphill. I will be able to do it, Jeremy be scared because when I come back to Brown, I will be lean and mean haha

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Day 37

Mood: Slightly tired

Diet: water and protein shake so far

So yesterday I drove down the mountain to go sightseeing with my parents. In the afternoon, we stopped by Wal-mart and I bought a pedometer to track my distance on my run this morning. This morning I got up at 9:30am and decided it would be fun to run a couple of miles to see if my body could do it. So I planned my path, tied my pedometer to my shoelaces and went out for a run. Winter Valley Rd sounded like a good place to start so I started running, boy was I not prepared for the most grueling workout I have ever done in my life. It was horrible, painful, and filled with buckets of sweat. I started on winter valley rd and at about a mile into my jog/run I realized how stupid it was to forget water on my journey, which was the most dumb thing I have done in awhile. After a mile, I realized that Winter Valley Rd had such a steep elevation. I decided to embark on this journey anyways and literally wanted to collapse after I got to the summit. To run a mile and a half, it took me about 18 minutes because it was all uphill. People were driving by and staring at me like I was crazy.

At the top, I rested for about 1 minute. Then I decided to run back down the steep road. Omg the rush was incredible, I felt like I was going 30 mph down that slope. The air was so thin, I kept losing my breath but I pushed and pushed until I had traveled a good 2 and a quarter miles, I took another break of about a minute and a half. When I came back down, I noticed another rd that went uphill, so I said to myself why not I've accomplished so much why not more. The road's name was Alta Rd which in spanish means "tall", oh it was tall alright. After doing two uphill climbs jogging and two downhill sprints, I took another break, I had clocked a little over 3 miles at this point. I took another break and decided to head back to the condo I'm staying in throughout my vacation. I sprinted my fastest when I was on level ground and saw a trail that led right to the end point of my run, so I continued running/jogging all the way back finishing the last half mile with my fastest sprint.

Total distance about 4.1 miles according to my pedometer.

Total calories burned-- don't know

In the evening, I plan to do a couple hundred push ups with a 20 pound weight on my back plus work my shoulders and traps.

p.s. Oh yeah I forgot on my run there was an elk about 15 feet away from me as I was going downhill, he looked at me as he was chowing down on some delicious grass. I said what's up, but he must have been hungry because he didn't pay any attention to me. He was a nice elk though, not one of those that charge people :)

Day 36: Just like Rocky

Mood: Excited

Diet so far: chicken with vegetables, bottle of water

So yesterday I arrived at Angel Fire, New Mexico which is basically a little town on the top of a mountain. At night time, it was so scary driving up a mountain with tons of turns and not having a barrier on the side of the road to protect you if something happened, yea I pretty much would have crashed to my death down the mountain. An elk thought he was big stuff and decided to walk onto the road, thankfully I braked in time and didnt swerve to avoid him because that would have been disastrous. So yeah, I'm about 14,000 feet above sea level on a beautiful mountain. I will be staying here for the next week. I tried running a bit outside yesterday at 2 in the morning and I lost my breath so quickly, I felt a bit lightheaded, but I think it was because I drove 15+ hours to get here while my parents dozed off the whole trip. My parents have been amazed that I've been eating so healthy. My dad yesterday asked me what have you done with my son when I didn't order a burger and fries. Those times are long gone, just a bunch of lean protein from here on out.

I found a library up here which lets out of town guests use their computers for free so I lucked out. Hopefully, I will be able to join the shreddersphere soon, it would be such an honor to be a part of a group of individuals that are pushing themselves to their limits everyday and are supporting each other in the process. Jeremy you would love it here, I feel like Rocky Balboa running on top of a mountain.

Today, I plan on doing some weight training with the weights I brought from home (chest/biceps/triceps) plus I bought a weighted jump rope and so I'll do that for an hour (cardio).

Sunday, August 10, 2008

Day 35

Mood: Excellent

Water so far: 1 16 oz bottle so far

So in a couple of minutes I will embark on a 900 mile journey to New Mexico. My parents and I will be driving and google maps said it was going to be a 15 hour trip, so I'll probably arrive there around 12 midnight. After such a long drive, I don't think I'm going to get a chance to work out today and if I do I will probably a few cycles of pushups burpees and sit ups. I'm going to bring my weights and I bought a weighted jump rope yesterday at Wal mart so I can do my cardio. I also bought some whey protein which I'm going to start using and bought some fish and flaxseed oil which is "good" fat. Tomorrow it will be my task to find a library or something in New Mexico where I can have internet access so I can continue to blog during my week long vacation. I weighed myself this morning and according to the scale I'm around 203. I'm almost there. Mission 1 ends on Septembet 15, and hopefully I will get down to 190 by then. Getting trim, shredding hard, eating clean.

Yesterday I did HIIT cardio on my treadmill alternating between 7-9 speeds. My treadmill only goes up to 9.5 speed which it labels as Performance speed haha. Jeremy better watch out, I'm coming back stronger and faster than ever. I wish everyone luck on their shredding missions. Until next time.

Feel free to comment.

Saturday, August 9, 2008

Day 34

Mood: Tired after a long flight

Diet: two salads, on with chicken, the other with lean beef

So I just got back from Texas.

Today I plan on doing 30 minutes of HIIT cardio on my treadmill at home. We'll see how it goes.

Feel free to comment.

Friday, August 8, 2008

Day 33

So today, I went to the gym and I got caught in a storm so I had no other choice but to run my fastest 8 blocks haha. I felt like a football player doing drills in the rain and mud. At the gym, with no training partner in sight thanks for leaving early Jeremy, I did the following workout:

Bench press:
7 sets of 6-8 reps 135 pounds

Bicep curls:
3 sets of 10 reps at 90 pounds
superset of 25 reps at 50 pounds

Triceps:
3 sets of 10 reps at 90 pounds

Ab workout using weights

Cardio:
Ran my fastest half mile on the track no breaks, just ran it through

Life:
As I am writing this, I'm getting the rest of my stuff ready because I leave to Texas in about 5 hours. It will be hard for me to post daily pictures on my blog since I'm leaving my computer in Providence, but I will stay maintain my blog daily. I won't be in Texas for long, since I will be leaving towards New Mexico in two days for a family vacation. I will buy a jump rope as soon as I GET THERE so I can still do cardio. I have some weights at home that I'm going to bring with me. With push ups, sit ups and a clean diet of water, salad, and chicken I will hopefully still maintain my figure haha. What figure, but I'm working on that.

Feel free to comment.

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Day 32: Packing Day

So today, I was busy with Physics and packing since I'm going home to Texas on Saturday early in the morning. Tomorrow I will do lots and lots of cardio. It will be hard to post pictures up since I have no internet connection at home but I will try my best to continue to blog everyday and then do a reveal after three weeks, hopefully I will be ripped by then.

Feel free to comment

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

Day 31

Mood: Excellent

Water: About 80 ozs

Diet: Salad with three chicken breasts and a variety of cheese haha

Workout:

So tomorrow, is a packed day filled with washing dirty laundry, packing, and a cardio session which Jeremy said was going to be intense. I'm off to Texas in two days, so tomorrow is not going to be a day of relaxation. It will be hard to find an internet connection when I go on vacation, but I will persevere and walk 100 miles if I have to to make sure to blog everyday.
Thanks to everyone for their support.

Day 28

Mood: Excited and Sore

Diet: Asian Chicken Salad, Salad with chicken

Water About 90ozs

Total calories burnt about 280

Second session of cardio in the evening

Total distance: 4.5 miles
Total calories burnt about 500 calories

I felt good about my cardio sessions, almost lost my breath during my treadmill workout in the early afternoon but was fine after a few minutes rest. For the first time, I got kicked out of the gym because I was there till it closed. So that was exciting. I'm kind of upset that I won't be able to use the treadmill anymore as the only gym with treadmills has closed for the summer. Elliptical all the way from now on haha :)
