Day 22

Mood: Excellent

Water: About 100 ozs

Diet: It was my high day so I had a stack of banana pancakes, a salad with turkey and a tuna wrap with lettuce and carrots

Today's workout consisted of a crossfit workout

It included:
push press + knees-up crunches + burpees + lunges done in succession with no rest
I did this for 5 rounds with rest time consisting of time on the treadmill at 7.0 speed. While I was running on the treadmill, Jeremy was doing a round of crossfit training. Then I jumped off the treadmill and I did a round. I had never felt so tired after a workout. After the five rounds were over, Jeremy and I took a rest period of a minute. Jeremy then decided we should do an additional 10 minutes on the treadmill, alternating between speeds 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 6, 6.5 etc. I wanted to pass out so bad, but overall I'm glad I was able to accomplish what I set out to do.

Feel free to leave a comment or suggestion

p.s. I'm really excited that after so much hard work, Adam has decided to add me to the blogroll, hopefully in two weeks, I will also become part of the shreddersphere. Until next time.

I wish everyone the best. You can do it.

Day 21

Mood: Relieved

Water: About 100 ozs

Diet: Salad with mandarin oranges and chicken, oatmeal, can of tuna

Workout:

So today Jeremy decided to show me the ins and outs of lactic acid training the day after I killed my shoulders and back. It was ok, I was up for it. We sis multi-angle dumbbell bench press (once going down and once going up) I lost count on the reps I accomplished since after the lift, I almost passed out. I also did 5 sets of 150 pounds on back rows for 5 reps each set. On biceps, I did as many reps as possible on a lower weight than I normally do. 1st cycle- 25 reps, 2nd cycle-21 reps, 3rd cycle-15 reps, and 4th cycle -14 reps after that I was done. After this intense workout, I was pretty much gone and Jeremy decided that it would be a fun idea to run my fastest mile. Wheezing while walking over to the treadmill, I gave it my all. I finished the mile in under 8:4o which is pretty good for me since I'm still out of shape.

Abs: I did them, not too bad

After this workout, I felt a great sense of accomplishment. I pushed myself to my limits. Overall, I'm feeling good, working towards that goal. I'm also seeing muscle definition in my arms, they're starting to become a lot less amorphous so I'm happy about that. Getting the guns haha.

Until next time, feel free to leave a comment or suggestion.

Day 20:Doubling up

Mood: Excellent

Water: About 140ozs

Diet: Salad with 3 breasts of chicken

So Today, I had a dinner date with a friend of mine and I had to get my workout done before then. Jeremy was writing poetry and wasn't able to come workout with me, something about a thrombolytic stroke and anne carson, one of the greatest poets of all time. So seeing as I didn't have any one to spot me, I paid a guy on the street 1 dollar to spot me at the gym. Just kidding ;) Today, I think I drank the most water I've ever drunk in my life, about 140 ozs and counting.
Life is good and I'm seeing results, hopefully in a month I will be able to fit into my middle school clothes.

Workout:
Shoulder press: 12 sets of 5 reps 20 second rest
Lat pull down: 12 sets of 5 reps at 160 pounds

Cardio:
20 minutes elliptical alternating between 10-13 resistance at highest crossramp

Feel free to leave a comment or suggestion.

Day 19: Time to Relax

No picture today as I was away from my apt for the day and didn't want to take a picture on a full stomach. Tomorrow I will double up by doing cardio and lifting as well.

Current weight: around 208

Since late June, I've lost about 18 pounds.

Day 18: Post Orgo Exam

So after staying up almost all night, after my orgo exam, I passed out on my bed and didn't get much exercising done.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Day 17

Mood: Weak

Diet: Two and a half cans of tuna, salad, 4 pieces of watermelon after workout, 2 slices of ham

Water: about 70 ozs

Today, I felt pretty weak when lifting weights. It might have been that I haven't been eating enough. Tomorrow, is my cardio day, which I'm excited about since although a grueling process, it's the only way I will lose fat. I hope that I feel stronger when I lift on Friday. I was disappointed in myself today, it really sucked. Although, I finished my reps, I didn't feel like the hulk at the end of my workout. So, tomorrow, I'm going to start increasing the protein.

Workout:
Shoulder press: 50 pound dumb bells, 2 cycles of 24 reps
Triceps: 130 pounds, 2 cycles of 24 reps
Back Lats: 140 pounds, 2 cycles of 24 reps
Abs: 2 cycles for a total of about 170 crunches

Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions.

Day 15

Mood: Tired

Diet: High Carb, About 150 ozs of water

Workout:
Flat Chest Press: 50 pound dumb bells 2 cycles of 24 reps
Biceps: 90 pounds 2 cycles of 24 reps
Cable Cross Over: 80 pounds each hand 60 reps
Back row: 120 pounds 2 cycles 24 reps

The increased number of reps made me feel very weak after my workout.  Thank God, it was my high carb so I had a lot of energy and more endurance. I'm starting to notice some fat disappearing from my midsection. I'm almost there , well not really, but I'm closer.  We'll see how much I transform in the next week.

Feel free to comment.

Day 14

2nd Cardio Day

Mood: Good

Diet: a salad with tuna, a cup of pasta, and two small pieces of watermelon

So Today, I went to the gym and decided to go hard during my cardio session. I was so spent after my workout but then I drank my elixir: Pure water produced by the springs of Ozarka.
I needed to replenish my body, since I hadn't eaten all day.

Workout:
15 minutes (mid crossramp) 9-12 resistance 1 minutes at 15 resistance
15 minutes (highest crossramp) 10-13 resistance
10 minutes (13-16 resistance)

Total distance 4.5 miles

Total calories burned: 550

I also did 2 sets of 130 pounds pull down for abs.

I also lifted a bit, i did shoulders and back to warm down.

Feel free to leave a comment.

Day 13

Mood: Excited

Diet: Salad with turkey and no dressing, Chicken with veggies

Cardio day

Today, I did cardio without having eaten , which was a pretty good idea since I wasn't weighed down by food. Jeremy and I went to the track and ran 10 laps around which is about 1.25 miles. After this, we did 10 minutes on the elliptical.

I switched between 9-16 resistance doing interval training. After my workout, I felt like a starving hulk and I went to the dining hall and ate my usual meal, which is a salad with just lettuce and carrots no dressing. They didn't have chicken to add to the salad, but they did have turkey, so I added that on there for my protein.

Tomorrow, I'm planning on doing 12 laps we'll see how it goes.

Feel free to comment.

Day 12

Mood: Weak

Water: 5 16 oz bottles

Today I had a reward meal for all my hard work at the gym, it consisted of some steak, mashed potatoes and salad. It was a bad idea to go to the gym 2 hours afterward as I was very full but I couldn't miss two days straight.

Workout:
Flat press: Went up to 65 pound dumb bells
Shoulder push press: 55 pound dumb bells
Back rows: 120 pounds
Triceps: 100 pounds
Biceps: 90 pounds
Lat pull down: 120 pounds
Legs: 100 pounds/ 80 pounds for the push down

At the end of my workout, I felt very weak. I think I need to eat more. I also had to go down weight on some of the exercises since I felt pretty full from having eaten before. I'm losing weight though. The picture I took for this post was taken in the morning on an empty stomach and I can see the bottom of my stomach disappearing. I used to have a pretty noticeable flap, people shouldn't have flaps on their stomach. I'm almost there, I can do it, I will transform into the hulk.

Feel free to leave any comments.

Day 11

Mood: Dissapointed

Current weight: 210

So today was supposed to be my cardio day, but since I spent all night studying for an exam last night, I passed out on my bed. Today I made a bet with Jeremy that I could do three weeks drinking nothing but water and that I would follow a strict diet that includes no snacking and salad with chicken among other things. Around May 31, I weighed a whopping 226 pounds, but over the past month and a half, I have lost 16 pounds. It's progress, we'll see if I lose another 15 by the time summer is over.

Feel free to comment.

Day 10

Mood: Hulky

Diet: Protein shake, two bottles of water, about to eat a scrumptious salad

I felt good during my workout today, can't wait for cardio tomorrow :( I got angry today at the gym I think I was freaking Jeremy out, it helped me endure more reps. I'm losing fat around my stomach which is a good sign, I'm excited about that. I don't know how much weight I've lost probably like 3-4 pounds. Jeremy has helped me persevere through this, I didn't think I was going to be doing this for at least 10 days.

Workout

Chest Flat press: 60 pound dumbbells

Shoulder press: 55 pounds

Back rows: Went up to 175 pounds!

Bicep curls: 90 pounds

Triceps: 60 pounds (rope)

Abs: 90 pounds with the machine

Feel free to leave any comments :)

Day 9

Cardio Day

Mood: Excited

Diet: 1.5 pancakes, sausage, tuna wrap with veggies, chicken breast, 3 bottles of water

I need to clean up my diet, but a breakfast with pancakes sounded good at the time.

I did 20 minutes on the elliptical alternating between 9-14 resistance at the highest crossramp

I also did 10 minutes on the treadmill alternating between 5.6 and 6.5 miles per hour

After my workout, I did another 5 minutes on the treadmill at 8 miles an hour to challenge myself.

Total distance: about 3.4 miles

Total calories burned : about 350 calories

I was so spent after my workout and I was sweating more than I had ever perspired in my life.
I can do this, I will prevail, "You won't like it when I'm ANGRY."

Day 4

Mood: Upset

Diet: Salad with chicken, tuna, chicken breast

In the morning, as I was getting out of bed, I was stretching, and sadly in the process pulled my calf muscle.  Today I was set to do cardio but hardly being able to walk is preventing me.  It's so dissapointing  I hardly ever get an injury and I'm upset that it had to happen during this time. Hopefully, it will get better by tomorrow. : (

Day 3

Mood: Content
Diet: pasta with meat, cereal with skim milk, canned tuna, tuna wrap with veggies

Today I lifted some weights as I was doing the HST routine.  I did some abs but I didn't feel quite as strong as I did the day before.  I'm debating whether to start using protein powder to gain muscle as I don't think I'm getting enough protein everyday.  Total time at the gym was about an hour after doing abs.  I've realized that doing abs doesn't leave me sore as much anymore.

Feel free to leave comments or suggestions.

Tuesday, July 8, 2008

Day 2

Diet: Have eaten only once :( plus 24 ounces of water

Yesterday I did HST routine plus abs and HIIT cardio. I felt strong during my workout and was running at a good pace during my cardio despite being out of shape. I plan on doing some more cardio today and no weights.

This is only the beginning.

I will post pictures of my progress every Monday, feel free to leave any comments or suggestions.
